That’s me - Alex Linebrink.

Here’s the basics, though:  I’m a freelance web & graphics designer and social marketing consultant, and I’m fed up with new, talented designers & brands coming along and just copying everything else out there.  I’m tired of the growing lack of originality, and I think the rest of the world is too.  I want what everyone else wants: brands and products that are honestly breaking new ground (and not just saying they are), and designers who are trend makers (not trend followers).

Thus, enter indie.  To be indie is to be independent.  It’s to be yourself.  It is to be real; not another synthetic copy of what is “hot”.  That Indie Dude is about encouraging designers, brands, and everyone else to just be themselves.

So, as you might have guessed, this site is all about the community.  I want to help the community that hangs out around T.I.D. be themselves in the best way possible.  I want to help the find the latest trends so that they can see what they jive with, NOT so that they can copy them.  I want to help this community know itself first and foremost, and to use that to fuel creativity.  I have a feeling that if we can figure out who we are, we can start to be original again: being the new progressives, innovators, and trend creators.
